Cape Cod Vacation Packages & Travel Information
Cape Cod boasts fifteen small towns with even smaller villages sprinkled throughout. The Cape is commonly referred to in sections, the Upper Cape, Mid Cape, and Lower Cape. The Upper Cape is closest to the mainland and is comprised of the towns of Falmouth, Mashpee, Buzzards Bay, Bourne and Sandwich. Falmouth Harbor is one of the ports most used by ferries traveling back and forth to Martha's Vineyard. The Mid Cape is located in the middle of Cape Cod with the shores of Cape Cod Bay bordering its north side and the shores of Nantucket Sound to the south. The towns of Barnstable, Yarmouth and Dennis can all be found in the Mid Cape section of Cape Cod. The village of Hyannis, also in the Mid Cape, is home to Hyannis Harbor, which is the main harbor for ships traveling back and forth to Nantucket Island. The Lower Cape includes the easternmost part of Cape Cod, including the very tip of the peninsula where the very popular Provincetown is found. The Atlantic Ocean borders the Lower Cape to the East, making the Lower Cape a very popular destination for fishermen and surfers alike.
Tourists book Cape Cod vacation packages from all over the world. Many visitors come to escape the hustle and bustle of local city life and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Others travel great distances in search of a one-of-a-kind adventure in one of the many natural settings around the cape.
